Dealing with Service matters of the SAs, under the control of Central Region

Sanctioning of leaves (excluding the study leave), GPF advance, part final withdrawal & TA Advance of SAs, maintaining the S.B. of SAs and submission of pension cases of SAs, Writing (reporting of ACR/APAR of SAs, Pension cases of SA

Approval pertaining to the Conservations

  1. Estimates for the Conservation of monuments above the sanctioning power of SA but below the sanctioning power of DG ASI (the sanction power is notified time to time, at present Rs 24 lakh to Rs 50 lakh) will be approved by the RD.
  2. Besides this, the estimates above the sanction power of SA of the Circle and R.D of the region and all the estimates pertaining to the conservation of monuments are to be submitted to DG through RD
  3. Scrutiny of the estimates received from the circles is done with the help of an Expert Panel chaired by the RD. The Expert panel/screening c committee besides RD is consisting of an expert from the 3 member’s panel nominated by the DG ASI for central region and a co-opted member. SA of the concern Circle and other supporting staff are invited in the meeting to present their case.
  4. The minutes of the Expert panel scrutiny committee are recorded and the decision is communicated to the concern office.

Convening the meeting to grant the benefit of MACP to staff working under the central region

  • Grant of MACP Regional Director is empowered to recommend the -MACP cases pertaining to all the staff members posted under the various offices under Central region.

For MACP cases following procedure is followed

  1. SA of the concern office under RD will submit the case for grant of MACP to RD with the details and S.B of the incumbent.
  2. In response to above, the Vigilance clearance is sought from the Concern office and vigilance section in the office of DG ASI, New Delhi.
  3. Besides, ACR/APAR Gradation Chart of last 5 years is sought from the Directorate office so as to consider the case for MACP.
  4. Upon the receipt of above, the MACP meeting is fixed and convened by RD through a DPC meeting. RD is the chairman of the 3 member DPC committee, comprising the Rd, SA/nominee of SA of concern Circle and any other officer from the region.
  5. The minutes of the DPC is recorded and submitted to DG ASI for approval, once the DG has approved the minutes of DPC, the same is communicated to concern SA who intrn will grant the MACP benefit to the incumbent.

Additional duties

Besides the routine office work, Regional Director has been time to time nominated by the Director General, ASI on his behalf to deal with cases pertaining to seizure of Antiquity. For this purpose an Expert Committee is formed with the approval of DG ASI and decision is communicated to the concern Agency.
